Multiple Grant Opportunities Available

The Ottumwa Regional Legacy Foundation is pleased to announce two grant opportunities opening on February 1, 2018. Since opening its doors in 2010, the Legacy Foundation has distributed nearly $18 million dollars to support education, infrastructure, revitalization, and nonprofit capacity support in Wapello County. Each year brings additional funding needs in our communities. In support of these needs, ORLF offers two responsive grant programs, the Bright Ideas Community Enrichment Fund and the Legacy Youth Alliance grant.

The Bright Ideas Community Enrichment Fund will distribute up to $150,000 in the upcoming 2018 spring grant cycle.  This is a competitive grant application; grant amounts are expected to range from $2,500 to $30,000.  Applicants must complete and submit the online grant application between 8:00 a.m. on February 1, 2018 and 5:00 p.m. CST, February 28, 2018 – paper applications are not accepted.

The Bright Ideas Community Enrichment Fund was established in 2011 to support charitable intentions of the various 501(c)(3) not for profit organizations that serve to enrich the quality of life for the residents of the City of Ottumwa and Wapello County.

The Legacy Youth Alliance grant is also a competitive grant process and will distribute up to $10,000 with grant awards up to $2,500. The Legacy Youth Alliance program is youth committee that looks to make a difference in our communities by supporting youth-led projects or youth-serving organizations in Wapello County.

Organizations that are a 501c(3) not for profit and interested in applying for a grant from the Bright Ideas Community Enrichment Fund or the Legacy Youth Alliance program should access the online grant application system.   Before starting the online application process, applicants are encouraged to review the Grant Guidelines and Grant Checklist, which will provide assistance in completing the online process.   Qualifying organizations that have further questions can contact anossaman@orlf.org.
